The minister stated that the ministry is “examining” cars from China within its vehicle pools, however noted that safety is a issue in every contemporary vehicles.

We have a fleet of thousands of cars in the MoD and Chinese ones account for a tiny fraction.
But whether you’re driving a Chinese car or a non-Chinese car, what we’ve asked our people is not to plug Ministry of Defence technology into their car, not to have conversations at a classified classification in any kind of car, due to the increasing risks of eavesdropping that are present in every single automobile, to only have those secret talks in protected areas. That’s a wise and sensible thing for anyone worried about safety.

When it was suggested that it would be wise for the ministry to cease using every Chinese vehicles, Pollard responded: That is precisely what we are looking into at the moment.”
